We are not a trend, we are a tradition — a tradition that is steeped in history and heritage. We strive to be a welcoming haven for men who like to look and feel their best. We are committed to creating an enjoyable experience while giving our customers high quality haircuts, beard trims and hot towel shaves. For over five decades, men have been coming to Pine & Dale for an authentic, quality barbering experience. Not just a place to get a haircut, we pride ourselves on being a community hub where multiple generations of men can gather and feel at home. We encourage our clients to converse, exchange ideas, enjoy a cold beer or whiskey, and leave feeling better than when they arrived. 

1971-2001: Pine and Dale's story starts in Burlington on Pinedale Avenue in 1971. Italian immigrants, Joe and Tris, opened the doors to this small neighbourhood barbershop, Pinedale Barbers. The shop quickly builds a loyal following of all ages and is the epitome of the neighbourhood barbershop. Customers send postcards from their vacations back to the shop, men gather inside and outside to talk about current events.  Hair cuts, shaves and good conversation become the calling card of this community hub. 

2001-2015: In the year 1982 a third barber is brought on to help the busy shop. Fernando quickly builds up his own clients and is a perfect fit for the local shop. As time goes by and Tris and Joe prepare to hang up the scissors, Fernando purchases the shop and starts his own story at PINEDALE BARBERS. The shop continues its traditional barbershop vibe and continues to grow. Fernando moves the shop after being informed the plaza will be turned into condominiums. Finding a great spot just off of Lakeshore between Appleby and Burloak, Pinedale barbershop's journey continues in the new location. 

2015-Present: After many successful years, Fernando looks to step back from the shop and try his hand at a new career.  A new partnership is born with a longtime Pinedale Barber customer Paul and sister Amanda. Paul has been coming to Pinedale to get his haircut since 1974 and Amanda has been accompanying their father on his bi-weekly visits for years. Working with Fernando, the shop name is amended to Pine and Dale Barber and Shop as the three want to expand the brand without loosing the heritage. The shop is moved a couple doors over to a better spot, receives an updated interior and a licence to serve alcohol — Pine and Dale is ready to move forward with two feet firmly planted in being a tradition, not a trend. Pine and Dale will continue to grow, but its core values of great haircuts, shaves and service will always be what drives the brand and shop.
